I just need to do all the outline stitching and it will be ready for... I have no idea what I'm going to do with this thing, but I'll have plenty of time I'm not in a big hurry to finish the outlining.

July Cross-Stitch Update
I didn't do an update last month because I was in the middle of moving. This month I'm doing it early because I've finished!

I just need to do all the outline stitching and it will be ready for... I have no idea what I'm going to do with this thing, but I'll have plenty of time I'm not in a big hurry to finish the outlining.

April Cross-Stitch Update
I haven't done much in the past month. However, I am almost done with the top and side branches, and the end is in sight. Not a moment too soon. I am starting a new project. More on that later.

March Cross -Stitch Update
I haven't posted an update in a couple of months, because something came up. Look what a difference those two months made!
I am hoping to be finished with this project soon.

Cross Stitch Progress
I just realized that I didn't update my progress last month. Oh well, as you can see not much has changed. I hope to get more done now that summer and days over 105F are here. I will be spending lots of time indoors plopped in front of the TV catching up on my shows.

Cross Stitch Update
I know I know, It's been 6 months since I posted about my cross stitch. With the Holidays, and moving, and my camera breaking, and having to hunt around for a good deal on a new one, not to mention not having much time to actually sew, progress has been slow. I have however set a goal of finishing this thing by then end of 2009 AND finishing at least 3 quilt blocks by the end of the year. Ambitious I know!
You can see how far along I was 6 months ago here

Cross-Stitch Project
At the end of February 2008 I bought this cross-stitch kit:

I started within 2 weeks and have been dabbling in it ever since. As of today here is what I have done:

Pretty pathetic, eh? Actually, it's even more pathetic when you consider all of the medium and light colored green thread has been added within the past month and a half, or so. Of course, by "or so" I mean more like 2-3 months, but I get so busy with life that I lose track of big spaces of time.
So, I have decided that I have to post my progress on the blog every week, 2 weeks, or month, in order to use humiliation as a motivator in finishing this project. As you can tell I haven't decided the frequency in which to post the cross-stitch. This is because I don't know yet how much time will be adequate enough to hide my shame.
My hope is that making all these tiny stitches will improve my hand-piecing skills for the king-size quilt I am making. ALL BY HAND. That project will take even longer than this one, but that is a post for another time.
